Running good at PLO...

I've had a good run at PLO this month. When I datamine the tables at the levels I play, it's amazing how poor the players are compared to NLHE.

Today I won $103.80 over 290 hands...Bankroll stands at $5200.00. My bb/100 over the 2300 hands is 23.60/100. This is a sick rate, and I guess this is some makeup for the poor run I had at NLHE last month.

Check out the number of statistical fish listed on my pokertracker for this month alone. I probably don't have that many in my NLHE records over the life of my online play. This doesn't include all of the calling stations, maniacs that donate in a huge way.

I watched a free video tonight on PXFactor of Rizen playing 200PLO. He noted that PLO play is twice as fast as NLHE and would require a larger bankroll than the same level at NLHE. So if I play 100NL then I should play 50PLO for the same amount of profit or risk.

I didn't learn much from the video other than the information I stated above. I know Rizen is an accomplished PLO player, but I don't believe his play is correct for the lower limits. He played a few hands out of position that I wouldn't have touched and missed some opportunities to take control of pots while in position. Most of the players were fish/calling stations, so it was easy to assign hand ranges post-flop. My continuation bet % is much higher in PLO than NLHE and mainly because most players won't raise until they make their hand in the lower limits.

My strategy is to come in for a raise and play as much as possible in postion. I can get a Primo hand and typically won't raise PF from the blinds unless I can get a high % of my stack in the pot before the flop. He made a few raises in these situations in multi-way pots, and usually got burned...If he makes his hand, its unlikely to get paid off, so the implied odds aren't there in most situations.
