Live game get there...

Played in our local 1/2 nl game last week and took down one of my largest pots in that game. I had played fairly tight most of the night except I get dealt AA, AA, JJ on three consecutive hands. I limp reraised the Aces in hand one and was called by a shortstack winning about a $150 pot. I raised to $25 after having 7-8 callers when I was the BB with AA. I got no callers and won a small pot. I found JJ in the same situation and made it $25 again getting 1 caller. Flop comes K 9 3 rainbow and I bet $55 and get smooth called. blank on turn and I check and he moves all in for $199. I know I'm going to fold, but I make it look like a struggle and show the J's. He shows 33 for a set. Good fold me!

The big hand came on the next orbit and I raise UTG+1 with 2h3h to $12 and get 7 callers (Yeah, I know). Flop comes Q94 with 1 heart and the BB leads for $15 in to about an $85 pot. I call hoping to get a draw of some sort on the turn, and everyone else calls. 5s hits on the turn and I am now open ended, but it puts 2 spades on board. BB bets $20 into a $200+ pot and again I call along with 5 others. 7 players see the river in a $350+ pot.

The river is the Ad and I now have the nuts...the SB leads out for $75 and 2 players fold and I tank it for a minute and push $259 all-in with everyone folding back to the BB. He thinks for a while and finally calls due to the fact there was $690 in the pot and he only has to call $184. 3.75/1. he only needs to make a correct call 1 out of 4.75 times or 21%.

He called with A9, and everyone gave me the bewildered look of, "how did you get there with that hand?"

My live play has been very good over the last 5 weeks as I have won almost $1800 at the casino and at the local 1/2 game. My online results have plummeted losing about $1500 in the worst run poker I have experienced online. I have moved back to 100nl and look to move back to 200nl when I win 10 buyins or so.

I do have some bonus money coming to me in the next few weeks with IronMan, rakeback and possibly cashing in some of my IronMan medals for cash. They would total almost $800 together...so I haven't lost near as much as it seems.

I never relized how big of boost to your bankroll it would be to be a sponsored pro for these online sites. 100% rakeback can amount to a large sum especially for the multi-tablers in the small to mid stakes games.

Happy New Year!!!
